Sounds like desperation on Media General's part. Whether notice was provided is a black-and-white situation. While mistakes can happen, it seems far more likely that Media General is just trying to needle their way back into a situation where they can cannibalize a the resident affiliate's audience for their own personal gain. More power to them if they can pull it off, but they probably don't have a leg to stand on, and this kind of action really calls into question whether there is a bigger problem that Media General sees for itself going forward no longer capitalizing on cannibalizing their sister-affiliate's audience.
