I have a philips 30" HDTV monitor with the HDMI connector. I've triple checked, and my HDTV supports 1080i mode.
If I connect the 811 through the DVI cable to the HDMI connector on my TV, everything works fine until I put the receiver in 1080i mode. Once I do, I get a beautiful picture, but, I get a humming through the TV's speakers. Even if I remove the audio connectors, the hum is still there. If I knock it back down to 480, the hum goes away, but, the pictures not as crisp.
If I use the YPbPr connector in 1080i, it works great in 1080i mode (no hum), but, I'm told that the best picture is going to come through the DVI cable.
Anyone else have this problem?
Also, another thing I notice in 1080i mode, is that my menu and guide go from a widescreen format to a 4:3 mode, which isn't a huge deal, but, it'd be nice to see it fill the screen. Any hints on that?
Thanks in advance!
