TV 2 remote problem

I will do my best to explain this annoyance for my husband.

He received a new flat screen tv for Christmas. He installed it in the garage (about 100 ft. from the house). Everything works fine except for changing the channels. He has to aim the remote toward the house, or go about halfway between the house and the garage to change a channel.

We have the 722 receiver in the house. Does the remote work off the receiver or the tv? It worked fine when the 2nd tv was in the house.

It works off the receiver. You need to take the antenna off the back of the 722, then get a couple splitters and place the antenna at the back of your tv outside. There should be a diagram of this somewhere to reference. The range of the antenna is limited, hence your issue.

That's a teenie, weenie pic. Used to be a bigger one. I'll have to look.

What does the attenuator do? I don't have those on my setup and we've always had problems with the tv 2 remote. Where do you get one?

The attenuator weakens the signal to prevent OTA stations from causing a degradation in the TV2 quality and potential interference with the remote. Luckily I saved up the ones that came with my older receivers through the years but I'm sure you can find one online.
