I am recently having a problem tuning the PROF 7500 in ubuntu. It used to work in the past - I think I might have messed it up with an update. If I disconnect the COAX and connect to my Traxis 3500 my entire setup works fine. But in ubuntu I get the following in the log when scanning:

[224274.384037] stv0900_search:
[224274.384043] stv0900_algo
[224274.440016] stv0900_set_symbol_rate: Mclk 135000000, SR 1000000, Dmd 0
[224274.752025] stv0900_algo: NO AGC1, POWERI, POWERQ
[224274.752032] Search Fail
[224274.752043] stv0900_read_status:
[224274.776013] stv0900_status: locked = 0
[224274.840023] stv0900_get_mclk_freq: Calculated Mclk = 135000000
[224274.840028] TS bitrate = 270 Mbit/sec

Can anyone please offer some troubleshooting advice? Thanks.

What software did you update in Ubuntu?
What software do you use to watch TV with the card?
Can you post the entire log?
Why don't you try to uninstall and reinstall the card driver?

It had been a few months since I had used the card, so I am not sure what updates might have broke it. I think I upgraded from Lucid to Maverick. I use VLC to watch TV. There is nothing else in the log. That pattern repeats over and over. The log is for a scan.

What sat viewer do you use to control the card? Version? Was it also updated? Did you check for latest Linux driver? Uninstall and update both.

What do you mean by sat viewer? I did remove the s2-liplianin driver and re-installed the latest. Is there a way to verify I did not miss something. Or verify basic components one at a time?

I think I figured out what is messing me up. I am not sure if there is a bug in the new scan and s2-scan command or if I am confused. I will try to explain it here and start another thread about it. I used to specify -l 10750 for my STANDARD KU LNB. I no longer can tune anything when specifying this. I can tune if I omit it. But what confuses me is that the command defaults to UNIVERSAL which is not my LNB type.

It might be hard for a program to determine what LNB type you have installed, because it would require 2-way communication between LNB and PC, while lower DiSEqC standard versions provide only one way commands - towards LNB. May be you want to look at Kaffeine, MythTV or Linux VDR instead of dvb-apps to enrich your Linux sat TV experience? :) Look through the site mentioned above. No need for a new thread for that.

I have tried other apps and they are all lacking in some way. I use vlc to watch the tuned TP because it plays everything. I use command line apps like scan to verify basic fundamentals.
