Leaving my existing dish 500 intact feeding 3 x 311 SD receivers, until I install a new dish500 relocated and adding a 1000.2WA for a Vip211k, which will replace one 311. Once aligned everything will move over to both new or just the 1000.2

what are recommended transponders to use per bird?
Skew will be taken from existing dish, as will raw Az and El.

Don't have a meter but have aligned a few dish 500's. (twin LNB's)

I read on here (older threads) about covering 110 and 129 horns with foil to ensure first catch of 119 on the center feed, using receiver signal meter, peaked out,
is that a valid approach? (coax would be on any of the feeds?)

Also reading about older receivers not working with certain feed horns, I have WA DPPlus, triple out with one in.
Would 2 311's work with a vip211K on the dish 1000.2 with this feed?
Will the 3 x 311's work without the 211k on the 1000.2? (until I get the 211k authorized)
Should I use a 311 or the 211 to align the dish?

Thanks in advance for any input,

Thanks HiFi,

now just for receiver/dish compatibility questions, If the manual that comes with the 1000.2 dish is correct, my DPPlus will run the two types,
but might actually need the 211k in at least one output. I'll re-read that again too.
