Transponder freqs a little off

I was getting ready to use my new Coolsat 5000, and my trusty old Primestar dish to scan in channels on IA5. Then edit, and put them on Channel Master, then convert to my Pansat 2700. Just really learning how to use the 5000, more than anything.

I set the LNB to Single and 10.750. The Transponders are off by 1 or 2 points. Is there going to be a problem when I put the channel list on a different STB like the Pansat?

I don't know if it will be a problem. Mine were also off when I scanned then but I edited the frequencies to match up with those on Lyngsat, I noticed no signal loss and it seemed to work fine.

Should not be a problem. The signals are several MHz "wide".

This is also a good reason to look at local oscillator stability when choosing an LNB or LNBf.

Could you please explain? Obviously, using an old Primestar dish, with original LNB is a problem. But I have a new Invacom QPH-031, I haven't installed yet. Also, a GeosatPro standard LNB, that came with the GeosatPro dish, which I am installing a motor on hopefully this week.

I definintely want to try to get LNBs that are on the button. I enjoy using Mike Kohl's FTA list, but when your TP Freq's don't match up, it is a pain. To bad, there isn't a Channel List for Channel Master made from Mike's list. I would love to have that.

You might get more accurate numbers by adjusting the LO frequency slightly, i.e. 10749 or 10751 instead of 10750

Also if you blind scanned in the signals the Freq. is always off slightly, if having problems enter manually!

Ok. Since, I am just messing with my Primestar fixed dish at IA5, which scan would I use on a Coolsat 5000, so it wouldn't mess with the freqs?

If you want to be bang on Freq. you would enter the TP. manually then do a TP. scan.

all LNB's have a little "float" to them especially when blind scanning. I scan ONN on SBS6 at 11740, 41 & 42 (depending on the scan)
