transfering to mobile device

Hi I just got the hopper with sling have a question I can't seem to find an answer to. What kind of connection do you need to transfer shows to your android device, I have seen people talking about household lan without using internet not sure what that means. Does it take a lot of data to do so, I'm using a 4G device it's plenty fast but I have limited data and don't want to use it all.

It doesn't use your data but you do need to connect the HWS and your phone to your router. The authorization is needed when opening the app but the transfer doesn't use your data. Just connect your phone to your wifi network.
