Transfer movies

Have a external hard drive that is one terra bite. Is there a way to save my DVR data to an external hard drive?

To do WHAT with??? The ONLY thing you can do with any EHD on DirecTV, is use it with ONLY the specific receiver it originally recorded from; NO way to change that.
It it NOT like with DISH, where you CAN x-fer shows between (all) DVR's on your own account...
