Totally re-did setup, added more!

Well, I took the afternoon off, and took down the motorized dish. I re-set it up on my new "fortress" pole and am glad to report it was a breeze! Took just a couple minutes to mount and aim it. So, I had an empty pole, so I put up a Primestar dish and aimed it for G10. Now, I need to tie those in through a diseqc switch and bury some cable. I gained some satellites! My new location for the motor I can get up to 148w, and in the other direction, I am currently scanning PAS 3 at 43w - 86% signal! I also took a quick look and get 61, 58, etc. I am going to see if I can go anymore to the east. I LOVE IT!

Larry, that sounds great... motorized plus a dish dedicated to G10.

I'm jealous of you getting all those satellites to the east. The farthest east I can get is 61, and only now is the signal back due to the leaves falling from a huge tree that blocks it much of the year. Anything beyond is blocked by my neighbor's garage.

It is pretty cool! I had only been able to get to 72w before and 129 to the west, So I gained. I might be able to go farter east, but the motor is at the limit.

switch to 1.2 and not USALS..you should be able to go farther than 43

I might give that a try....last time I went to 1.2 to try for 30w, I freaked the motor out and had to reset everything I did a factory default today so am rescanning all. I want everyone to know something: Fortec Lifetime Classic NA's are built like a tank! I have pulled mine off of my entertainment center (6') a few times, and today I pulled it off my back steps (about 3') and hit into a cement block. a little scratch, but thats it. I better get a new receiver soon, just in case

when you go to 1.2, use usals at first... and set it as high as it'll go. You should get an out of range or some sort of message, or at least that's what I get on my pansat... then start changing the numbers... once you get usals to work to get where the limit is - mine is 33w... then go in to 1.2 and save the usals location that you are at without actually moving anything in usals yet. If you do it right, that should set your 1.2 up right there at 33... then it's just a matter of moving east 3 degrees.

I can get to Hispasat (30W) with USALS alone. I haven't tried to turn the motor any farther.

Cubavision is a neat channel.
