OOPS! You caught me in a "do-over" cause I saw you had commented already.. Of course I am gonna watch the Tribe.

Remember KCK, "Sizemore Matters"!

The book isn't released yet and I don't see many actual quotes or passages from the book yet. I would hold of on all the "Torre rips Yankees" claims though until we actually read the book.

I did find this interesting statement:

If that's the case, I don't have 1 issue with this. The man's telling his side of the story.
I agree. He has paid his dues and held his tongue. He is probably the most credible person in Baseball and should be allowed to say whatever he wants.

The Yankees are considering including a "non-disparagement clause" in future player and managerial contracts in order to prevent any more tell-all books such as "The Yankee Years," co-written by Joe Torre and Tom Verducci.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a Yankee official said yesterday that some members of the front office staff already are required to sign a confidentiality agreement in order to protect "proprietary knowledge of our business model." The proposed clause is intended to ensure that future books about the Yankees are "positive in tone," and "do not breach the sanctity of our clubhouse."

Does "The Bronx Zoo" ring a bell to any of these morons in the Yankees front office....?! LOL!

(Incoming defensive reply from you know who in 5....4....3....2.....)

Joe's got a HUGE challenge on his hands in about 2 weeks. He has a handful of young, unbridled talent like Matt Kemp, Russell Martin and James Loney who have already heard a year of "Baseball: The Torre Way" and now to come into the new season not knowing what to believe re: the "sanctity of the clubhouse". And whether or not 5-10 years down the road this manager (in whom you are supposed to place all of your young trust) will eventually "out" you later on for actions that may make for a good best-seller!

I think the McCourt's may now be sorry they didn't land Joe Girardi who was their 1st choice for Field Manager.

If that's the case then the players will not cross Joe. Honestly, if you read the quotes and excerpts from the book, anything Torre is saying is basically stuff we already knew.
A-Rod/A-Fraud, The Yankees knew they weren't going to win game 7 of the ALCS in 04, that Kevin Brown and Randy Johnson were not the best Yankees etc.

Really? Because as a Red Sox fan, I wasn't convinced we'd win until that last out was recorded! And that's with a 10-3 score! ;)

It's amazing that fans are blaming A-Rod for them not going farther, last time I checked there was 9 guy's on the field and more on the team, not just one guy.

Once players actually start pitching and catching, we'll stop worrying about he said/she said, and get back to actual baseball talk.

A-Fraud, A-schmaud, whatever. I don't care what you call him, I just want him to figure out a way to play well in October for a change.

This stuff is all January fodder for the drama queens. ;)

One big October can change things.

In 2006, I remember Pavel Datsyuk was crucified for a terrible playoff performance against the Oilers.

Since then, he's done well.

Difference being, Datsuk was a very young guy at that point .... A-Rod has many years in the league .
Datsuk in his 4th year.
A-Rod in his 12th year at the time you mentioned (06)
