‘Torchwood’ gets new title: ‘The New World’ (pics)

Starz' "Torchwood" reboot will be titled "Torchwood: The New World" and creator Russell T Davies gave some insight into the storyline.
The new story will follow a CIA agent (Rex) and analyst (Ester) who tackle an alien-related global issue. Torchwood, having been destroyed and disbanded, is "like a legend now ... it's like something that's ceased to exist and is now spoken of only in whispers." Soon, Rex and Ester are on the run and are seeking out the help of Captain Jack and Gwen.

Starz picks up ‘Torchwood’

Acclaimed British cult TV favorite "Torchwood" is getting a U.S. makeover courtesy of Starz. The premium cable outlet will share production costs on the show's upcoming season in exchange for domestic distribution rights. The 10-episode run will debut on BBC One and Starz next summer, and take on a more international scope. The bulk of the story will shift from UK to North America and key U.S. actors will join the cast.
Once again, stars John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return.

It's a new day, a new network, and a new world for Torchwood.
When the last Torchwood series ended, viewers certainly could have assumed that the end was permanent. Most of the "Torchwood" group was dead, the organization had been disbanded, and the leader - John Barrowman's Captain Jack - was dispirited, to say the least.
Yet here comes Jack again, in the ten-part Starz adventure Torchwood: The New World.

Well they will probably be a lot steamier now being on Starz, they will not have to censor out stuff for the US audience.
