Anyone else notice TNT-HD picture quality took a dump this weekend? Noticed it during King Kong and The Fifth Element. Higher than usual levels of pixellation during fast movement scenes and also light "colors" that shouldnt be there in said pixellation.

I was home for lunch and I am not sure what program was on TNT hd, but I thought the pq was better than I had ever noticed before.

Remember, This is still one of the few MPEG2 hd channels Dish still has.

I was under the impression that other than the Voom channels, almost all of Dish's HD channels are MPEG-2. That the Eastern Arc thing was going to put a bunch of MPEG-4 channels out there, but for the rest of us, we were pretty much stuck with MPEG-2...

personally, I always watch the NBA on it and I find it to be pretty good.
And I also watched some of King Kong and 5th Element this weekend and didn't see anything that made me say, "this looks bad".

Voom is now MPEG4.

Dish does have about 7 or 8 Mpeg2 hd channels.

Dish HD Mpeg2

TNTHD
HDNET
HDNMV
ESPHD
DSCHD
HBOHD
SHOHD
HDPPV

Everything else mpeg4

King Kong looked good to me(only watched briefly), but the non HD stuff like Die Hard 3 looked like crap. NatGeo is a channel I really take issue with right now.

Show the friggin Boston Bruins game on NHL Center Ice HD

My suggestion for DISH--Ultimate HDDVR Package
