Well all good things must come to an end or so they say. About 6 or so years ago Brian at Titanium Satellite was hard a work designing a better solution to the V-Box/G-Box type dish movers. After many hours of burning the midnight oil and testing, the ASC1 was the result. If anyone has ever owned an ASC1, they know just what a "tank" it is. So, a new controller was born a little over 5 years ago and not only did it exceed specs of the other cheap dish movers, it could position a polar rotor! Sadly, it is at EOL. :( This decision did not come easy. If you missed why the ASC1 is being discontinued, see this thread: ASC1 Positioner Controller - End of Production Notice

So Brian would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to resellers like myself(Michael Electronics) and others....And to EVERYONE on the forum that supported and referred people to the ASC1 for the past five years.

Brian(Titanium) at Titanium Satellite is giving away a NEW, in the box ASC1. This is not a return or refurb, this is your chance to own one of the last remaining Titanium ASC1's that is brand new in the box!

So how do I win one of these you may ask? Simple! Reply to this thread with a one to two sentence or one to two paragraph reply expressing your appreciation to people like Brian and Titanium Satellite for this hobby. Perhaps tell us a story on how Brian has helped you.

What if I am new and never really dealt with Brian and have no story?
Well, that is easy to just reply to this thread with: "Thanks Titanium Satellite".

This contest is open to any SatelliteGuys member or staff who is in good standing. Excluding myself(KE4EST) and Brian(Titanium). Contest ends 11:59 pm, PDT, October 31, 2019. One winner will be selected at random from valid entries on November 01, 2019 and posted on this thread. If a winner does not respond to the SatelliteGuys posted winning notification within 10 days of the winner notification posting, the prize will be forfeited and will be offered to another randomly drawn contestant with a valid entry.

This prize will be shipped free of charge to any residential or commercial address in the US or Canada. If the winner lives outside of the US or Canada, they will be responsible for any shipping, brokerage or customs fees.

Good Luck! Be sure to check back after November 1st to see if you won!

Congratulations to mc6809e, Ernie our winner!

Thanks to all the people that contribute to keeping our hobby viable. I have purchased an ASC-1 from Brian as well as his LNB and I can attest to his honesty and how he stands behind his products and for this reason I’m going to purchase the two tuner Mio when it’s ready to release.

Thanks Brian for all you have done for the hobby and the forum. Also, thanks Brian for taking time out of his busy schedule to personally help me with several issues I have had over the last year or so. He even went as far as to loan me a piece of test gear to help me sort out a problem. He always seems to be there when you need him.

A few years ago I bought a former test box from Brian. Generally speaking one would expect any used item to be sold as-is, with no warranty, as I did. It worked fine for a few days and then died. He did something I didn't ask for nor expect, he refunded the money. I felt bad about it but he said not to worry. That's the kind of gentleman he is and the kind of operation he runs. Thanks Titanium (Brian).

Although I have never needed any technical support for any of the receivers or LNBFs I have purchased from Titanium over the years, I see his devotion the hobby here on a daily basis. I've never experienced any issues with any of his products but I see how he stands behinds his business in responses to others. Thanks Brian.

I have bought a few things from Titanium Satellite (Edision Mio4K, ASC-1, a PLL LNBF), plus one LNBF that I won in a contest on this forum. I have also interacted many times with Brian in the forum, and once on the phone. Always a gentleman, with excellent knowledge and also patient with newbies. Saying that Brian is standing behind the products he sells is an understatement!

I'm sad that this is, at least for now, the end of the road for the ASC-1, but given the current circumstances, it's understandable.

Keep up the great work! And thanks for your dedication to keeping FTA alive!

** I DISQUALIFY MYSELF, PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE ME ** I have no use for an ASC1, since I do not have room for a C-Band dish. I still want to express my appreciation to Brian and Titanium Satellite for their quick, friendly service over the years as well as his generosity in previous contests. My Edision OS Mio 4K box that Titanium Satellite awarded me is currently disconnected as I am in the process of moving and I don't even have the Dish Network box hooked up yet, much less FTA. Either way, I am very grateful for it, as it has worked very well! Thanks Brian!

Thanks Brian for your continued support of the FTA hobby. I also disqualify myself -- let someone else win an ASC1.

And I hope they restore your power soon! (Currently power has been shut off to a large portion of Northern California, including where Brian lives. This is to prevent electric lines from starting fires if they fall due to the high wind. )

I have purchased several items from Titanium Satellite over the years. They were always shipped promptly and safely. I never had an issue with anything I bought but I know if I had it would have been addressed quickly and to my satisfaction. Brian, thank you for all you do for our hobby! It is appreciated! :hatsoff
