Hello
I have sadoun 1.8 mts static antenna with C band LNBF. If I have one satellite aimed (example 97.0 W or 58.0 W) on C band with Good signal and then I wish to switch to Ku Band on the same satellite switching the Collar ring to “KU2C3” and LNB KU Linear previous attached and any high Tp’s on this satellite on my receiver ..what I need to do?? To move little bit Up or down the satellite to adjust get the Ku signal. What others settings I need to move on my antenna ( If I have already catched C band with good signal)
The Both signal c/ku are cover my area..
In short words :Tips are welcome to use the Collar ring “KU2C3” to get Ku band on 1.8 mts antenna
Thanks in advance:)

If I understand what you're saying...you're actually switching out the lnb each time when you go from Cband to KU? If so you'd have to line up the lnb each time...kind of a pain. There are combination lnb's out there. I had a Geosat brand I think it was on my 8 footer. I got all my usual C band stuff but I was disappointed in the Ku reception...just my opinion.

I've used a 741 combination LNBF, it's cheap and works reletively well. It uses 22khz switching between C and Ku, and the standard high/low voltage polarity control. One feedline for both bands & polarities:

Is this 1.8m antenna an offset or prime focus feed type?

1.8 meter prime focus dish and swapping the LNBF to switch band? (Requiring replacing the C band scalar with the KU2C3) If so, Think you'd actually get better, less hassle, results with a 36 inch offset dish for Ku. No need to re-tweak the dish/feed to switch band. Just use a switch to select band, diseqc or 22khz. (But I am one that favors BUDs on C & smaller offset dishes on Ku)

Second choice:
If you are not using a Ku LNBF designed for a prime focus dish, performance will be reduced.
Consider an LNBF like this SL1P for better Ku performance:
.

Thanks Anole
Appears that this LNBF is ready just to attach to the arms of the dish? right? and it does not need any collar ring..
Also appears that the ratio F/D is already set so it does not need to be pushed in/out to adjust the F/D ratio right?

second choice:

The LNBF I mentioned mounts in the KU2C3 holder just as you described.

Please follow instructions on the Sadoun site to adjust for best signal.

After initial adjustment, you should be able to attach or remove the holder (with your LNBF inside) without additional tweaking .
Your mileage may vary .

edit: as for F/D, it is closer to matching your dish than a typical 0.7 F/D of most Ku LNBFs designed for offset dishes.
It still needs to be properly set to the focal point of the dish.

Don't you love people who talk through their a$$
