I have a 622 and a 612 and I am starting to have problems with my 612. From past issues I had to add all my timers and edit my favorites on my new receivers. I recall reading a post awhile back that the 922 or 722 can backup to the 20.0 remote. I am only going by my memory so I might be a little off if not 100% wrong.

So I guess my real question is..... is there any way to backup my timers and/or favorites on my 622 and 612? I would be happy with a transfer to my EHD.

Let me guess this will be available soon... LOL

Agree on the "bad news". I wish Dish would add a save/restore feature on the DRA website. It obviously knows all your timers.

+1 for back ups on DRA. Dish could then market that and say on any receiver you can restore your timers if you upgraded or RAd equipment. Would be quite handy.

Even a simple thumb drive save/restore would work. But, it looks like if I have to replace my 612 it will be another pencil and paper backup again.

Or printer on your computer on the DRA website. The trouble with that ploy is that (so far as I have tried with multiple browsers) you can't get the dratted page to print out all your timers at once. :( Maybe a browser I haven't tried has a way of maximizing the frame so that one print would do it all.

camera on your phone?

I did take a few pics of my timers before as a backup. The only problem is that some shows where not airing at the time I update my receiver, so I could not add these shows to my timers. Like "Burn Notice", "Psych", "Mythbusters", "In Plain Sight" to just name a few. Would be nice to be able to simple restore all my timers even if the show is not airing, just like my current timers are setup.

I sure wish I n ew I could back up timers on my 722 before this week. My timers lost there mind this week and had to delete them all and start over.

you should also checkout your timers looking at them through dishonline.com .... different layout (part of my commentary on Dish's Fragmented Directions) ... and is in a long list .. it doesn't give you enough detail on the list though... but it would be a good starting point... you could print them out ... then go back through each one to get their specific information.

And at the bottom of DishOnline.com ... there's a feedback link that takes a proper message, subject, and email address rather than the feedback in DRA which you have to hope somone is taking contact information down (ie who's logged in)

Anyway... its another way to see the data they pull.. and the printout should give you enough room to detail each timer (by hand).

Only the 922 & 722k can back up the timers. They are the only units that have 2 way com w/ remote controls.

The 222k also has the two-way communication feature (the 20.0, 21.0, or 32.0 remotes are needed).

I do agree with everyone that there should be another method of backing up timers and whatnot.

I logged into dishonline.com and do not see timers listed for my 612. Under my DVr all I see is Recordings and Scheduled.

I tried the "refresh" button under the receiver but I still do not see my timers. All I get is a list of conflicts and under that "Recordings | Scheduled". No list of my timers that I can print.

You have your receiver connected to the internet via ethernet cable or wifi adapter, right (it's needed)? If you do, try logging into dish.com (NOT dishonline.com) to see if it gives you the same problem.

I see it now.... Scheduled is the list of timers. On the DVR itself schedule is a list of shows that are going to recored and timers is a list of all timers.

On another note is there a way to delete all timers? I have another issue of timers trying to record at the same time on the same tuner. I tried a few things suggested in another post and it looks like I might want to try deleting all timers.

Thanks,
Ken

If you go to scheduled, it will have not just what is scheduled, but also all of your timers. For example, I see 'V' as one of my timers and there is no schedule for it. There are a ton of others there for me as well....

722 reboots when accessing My Recordings.
