Cable field technician Agustin Arreguin never guessed he'd get praise for missing a service job.
Tuesday evening was an exception, because he jumped over a gate at a North Side apartment complex to revive a young boy who nearly drowned. In the days since then, Arreguin, 30, has been called a hero.
It was all “still kind of surreal,” he said at a ceremony in his honor Friday morning.
“It's been quite a few days,” Arreguin said. “I can joke about being a hero, but seriously, I still feel like I'm just me.”
