After 14 years of dependability it is time say goodbye to my 3 old workhorses i.e. 722k's

Never has any major issues, actually I take back, I had to swap out some capacitors in one, but I considered that a supplier issue. Can't tell you how many samsung power supplies I changed caps on, but it was a lot.

Going to go with 3 Wally's to save dvr and receiver fees. I paid the $40 dvr fee for my camper 211k so I assume it will carry over?

I can get receivers for $50 and have plenty of old hard drives but my question is where is the best place to source the dish or air tv ota adapters?

TIA

I bought mine at the AirTV online store for $30. It is internally identical to the Dish-branded one, but in a white case and half the price. Let me see if they're available again... Hmmm. Can't find it.

Yep, gone! AirTV is owned by DISH. I guess DISH figured out that buyers were purchasing the adapters much cheaper from AirTV so rather than lower their price they simply made it unavailable from AirTV...

Thanks for info, did a light search and did not come up with much. A few on ebay.
Sucks they will be as much or more then the receivers.

I will be saving like 30 bucks a month so it won't take too long to recoup my investment.
I am not going anywhere else so as long as they don't fold like orby i will be good :)

If I move recordings from 722k to a external drive will they work with the Wally or is it a different format?

If it does work I will transfer the 10-20 events I want to save to a external then pull the drives out of the 722k's put them in docks and see how many more years of service I can get out of keeping the stuff I don't want to loose on a fresh one.

Different format so no reason to offload those events.

Thanks that is what I thought.

I will hang on to the one receiver that has some events I might want to view again. I have some good live music events I like to enjoy from time to time, especially after a few beers. ;-)
I have a 722k I got from a rental property that has been off for years and I can still access recorded content. Hope it is the same with mine.

Is there a trick to moving a Joey?
