The Tigers are retiring the late Sparky Anderson's No. 11, general manager Dave Dombrowski announced at Tigerfest today

Dombrowski said the club will fly a flag at Comerica Park all season in Anderson's honor.

The team will wear an Anderson patch on its uniforms throughout the season.

Anderson, who charismatically managed the Tigers for 17 seasons, died in November at 76.

Figured this would be done...after he pased away, should have been done before but I guess bad blood overrules all :(

Kudos to the Tigers for doing this. :up

It's too bad this wasn't done when Sparky was still with us, but better done posthumously than not at all.
