Perhaps I am just getting old and set in my ways.

I saw the trailer for The Three Musketeers last night and had a strong negative reaction. Dumas' 3 Musketeers is a classic with non-stop action and intrigue. Why did the producers feel a need to remake Crouching Tiger/The Matrix with a bit of steampunk thrown in? We already have dozens of movies like that. In my mind there is little more exciting than a good sword fight, ala the 72 version, or The Princess Bride. We don't need to defy the laws of physics or introduce a wall of gattling guns a full 2 centuries before they were even invented.

This will definitely be a Pass for me.

Sometimes "artistic interpretation" is worthy of adoration and a round of beer to the film-maker. Other times it is deserving of a pummeling with meaty fists and crooked sticks. In this case, I too will pass on this horrific sounding remake of a Classic. In fact, I get the feeling this version will bear little resemblance to Dumas' novel.

Is Damages available in HD

Final Destination 5
