French electronics supplier Thomson Consumer Electronics has put together a new development group that it said will speed new broadband and home-networking products for telco customers.
Banking on Thomson’s recent acquisition of telecom voice and data-access gear provider Inventel, the Thomson-Inventel Advanced Product Development Group will work on a wide range of in-home broadband and home-networking products. Eric Carreel, cofounder of Inventel, will head up the group.
"The formation of the Thomson-Inventel Advanced Product Development Group will reinforce Thomson's reputation as a leader in innovative technologies and creative product development and significantly enhance our ability to serve our network-operator and [Internet-service-provider] client base," said Bruno Fabre, vice president of telecommunications at Thomson.
