Dish Network is "upgrading" me to Eastern Arc dish on Thurs. I have a feeling though I'll be losing my Burlington SD local channels and be stuck with HD only locals.

Right you are: SatelliteGuys.US_TheList - Dish Network Burlington, VT as far as the Big Four are concerned. SD-only channels such as PBS will still be available in glorious mpeg-4 SD.

Oh well I can live with it. I'm a diehard when it comes to switching over to HDTV. I just can't see replacing my perfectly good SDTV's if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Maybe I can get the tech to connect my Dish 500 into the new eastern arc dish so I'd have the best of both worlds.

They will be putting in a new dish and compatible receivers or DVR's. So it makes no difference that you have an SDTV they will just hook up the RF out or composite output (yellow -vid, white & red - audio). Then when you upgrade to an HDTV you can use the HDMI out and switch the video to either 720p or 1080i. Your SDTV will never have looked so good with the new HD feeds of your stations.
