Looks like we are in for another solar flare....

The sun on Tuesday unleashed what appears to be the third most powerful flare in recorded history, a storm of charged particles that could hit Earth midday Wednesday with more effect than any since 1989, when power was knocked out to an entire Canadian province.

I thought that was last week :D :D
 
Everything made it except for an experimental Japaneese satellite. This flare was not near as bad as predicted due to its alignment with the earth's magnetic field. It had the potential to cause a lot of problems. We got lucky this time....
 
guess E* and D* and V* wont be making any insurance claims anytime soon :) wonder if these birds would be insured in a case like this or if something would happen they would be crap out of luck?
