Did Dish just drop TWC ?
Customer Service Message
As of midnight May 20, 2010, DISH has chosen to drop The Weather Channel from its channel line-up and we are so very sorry that you, our viewers, can no longer see one of the most important and valuable networks on television. We will continue making significant investments in our ability to provide the most accurate weather forecasts available to keep you safe and provide the information and coverage you need, especially in times of severe weather. The dangerous storms over the last few months are examples of where our ability to forecast dangerous weather has literally saved lives.
We have asked DISH to pay standard rates for that life saving information consistent with what others in the industry are already paying. Despite extended negotiations over the past several months, DISH has chosen to drop The Weather Channel rather than pay us that fair value for the network. Despite what you may hear from DISH, we have worked hard to reach an agreement with DISH and are simply asking them to pay us about a penny a month more for you to continue to receive The Weather Channel. We are hopeful that we can still reach an agreement with DISH Network and bring this highly valued network back to you and are committed to continuing our discussions with DISH. If you want The Weather Channel back on DISH, call DISH at 1-800-823-4929.
In addition, you can get The Weather Channel immediately by contacting your local cable provider, DIRECTV or in some areas, your local phone company.
