Just curious if the next version of RVU will improve over the current one? When I tried it on my TV I thought it was slow and the guide looked washed out. This was on a Samsung 2012 TV not sure if it has improved on the current sets.

I was also thinking about this with the next gateway possibly going headless with no video output how RVU will improve with that new system? Would it still be slow and the guide was dark if you used the 4k TV as the client device using Ethernet or WIFI and customers would just want to use a 4k client device anyway?

I talked to few higher ups around here and they say there in no new RVU's coming

Is the rendering of the RVU graphic overlay done on the client, or is it sent as a pre flattened video stream where only button presses are sent back to the generating server?

Is RVU robust enough for high framerate, high color graphics generation? Like could a user interface such as Comcast X1, or xbox dashboard be transmitted over RVU? If not - then I would suspect those types of features be added in the next version. Not sure what the QoS is like but good QoS and highly efficient compression algorithms between the servers and clients can always be tweaked in future iterations.
