When we still had the classic or default option, pages were loading very fast with this new software. It was just as fast if not a wee bit faster than the old vBulletin site which was incredibly fast most of the time. Now it seems as though pages are not loading as fast, or at least it seems that way to me. Not that the site is now incredibly slow by any means, just not as snappy. I first noticed this after we received the new user adjustable styles and colors. Personally I liked the classic look or default option that used 100% of the width, save the slide on the right side. But that is just me and I don't expect Scott to bring it back . I can't rule out something on my end, but I have checked and cleaned everything I know trying to rule out my side as the cause. Below is a copy of the trace I recently conducted. I am not sure what all this indicates, but maybe someone can find something with it it.
I feel bad bringing this up considering how much work has been done, but just ignoring it or saying everything is great/wonderful would be worse, I think.

There's something going on with your 13th hop.

There's something going on with your 13th hop.;)

That would be something beyond my control to do something about wouldn't it? And thanks for pointing that out.

AFAIK, this is totally out of our control. I had a similar issue with RR that was fixed when I bought a new modem that kept losing communication to the point I had to make a service call. They waived a magic wand at my house (changed some wires, and replaced their signal splitter in my garage) and told me it was fixed. Three hours later the problem returned. I was busy and couldn't call right away. And as if by MAGIC, the next day everything was fine. They were tweaking something because logs show my modem was manually rebooted a dozen times.

Anyway, a long story to say that even if I knew what the issue was, it would require way too much of my time and patience to correct through the standard RR CSR roulette. I was cured of calling for support when it took me a 4.5 hour call and 9 CSRs bailing out and sending me to another CSR to fix my RR e-mail. What killed me was they ignored my suggestion 8 times before the 9th finally listened to me and fixed the issue within 45 seconds of trying what I asked! First and only time I have ever gone over my cell minutes in a month!

I noticed the slight slow down too. My CPU is using a much higher percentage of processing when browsing the site now than before the latest change as well.

IMHO it looks great and works great, just a little slower.

Yeah, me too, and I also hated to bring it up after all the hard work and all (but me) testers claiming it was faster than vBulletin. For me, it's not just a little slow; it's ponderous. It's not as bad as Huddler (AVS), but it's halfway there. vBulletin was very snappy by comparison. Some things take about 10X longer, such as marking all threads in a forum "read". And this is the case from my retro W2K compouter here at home, as well as my zippy quad-core at work with the latest/greatest.

Oh, and I'm using FF here (and there). And don't even think about telling me to upgrade my browser, or I'll reach right out of the monitor and strangle you where you sit!

I´ve noted a slow down in loading pages, since yesterday. Before that loading and moving around in the forum was pretty fast

I notice it bogging down at times, not a lot, but some. Maybe when Scott gets back from his weekend he can monitor the server load and see what is what.

I know what the issue may be. I turned off caching yesterday to install an add in. And I didn't turn it back on.

Not by a computer at the moment but will fix it later. :)

No trouble at all I wouldn't have really thought about it unless someone said something. On my 150mb connection everything feels fast. :D

Thanks Scott she is "snappy" again!

More than a few people liked the original/default style.... I wish there was a way to bring it back and simply leave it as-is and not worry about updating it.

I know it's been ruled out, but your hop # 13 is a non-issue. Looking at the other ping times, including the other (2) pings to # 13, that 300+ number was a fluke or glitch. Do it again and I'm guessing it doesn't happen.
