The deciding factor in Hi Def DVD?

Please see my post #7 in this thread. The "Sony won't allow porn" story is open to question. I doubt that porn has the deciding power, or as strong of an influence as it did in the VHS/Beta battle. But people will continue to buy it, and on disc as well as on the internet. After all, adult magazines still sell. And whoever wins must allow porn on their format- or they won't win. There will be enough business for the other guy to hang on, if he allows porn.

So how long will standards DVDs hang on? 5 years, 10? Figure in 2 or 3 years all DVD players will play SD & HD discs?
