Tennis Channel HD added to Welcome Pack?

I asked this in another thread, but now that thread is missing. (See my thread in the Support Center for more details on this issue.) So, I will post it again here. I noticed this week that my sister is now getting channel 400, Tennis Channel HD, with her Welcome Pack subscription. She is only receiving the HD feed, but this may be normal since she is on Eastern Arc. I am not receiving Tennis Channel with my subscription, so it is not a free preview. Dish Support replied to my post in the other thread, asking me to contact their Chat team to ask about this. (I find it interesting that after I revived a five-year-old thread, Dish Support quickly replied to me twice, yet Dish Support has replied exactly zero times to any of the posts in the recent Joey Pixelation threads.) Anyway, after contacting Chat, they could only confirm what I already knew:

• Tennis Channel is not included in Welcome Pack, as confirmed by the Welcome Pack listing on the mydish website: MyDISH
• Tennis Channel is not a free preview, as confirmed by the Free Preview page on the mydish site: MyDISH

So my question is: Is anyone else with Welcome Pack also now receiving Tennis Channel as part of your package? I am wondering if the information available through the mydish site is outdated, or if there is some other explanation for why my sister is receiving it. I had intended to update my listing of HD feeds in Welcome Pack if it can be confirmed that Tennis Channel HD actually is included in Welcome Pack. However, like I said before, that entire thread is now missing.

I asked in the Support Center why the old thread was deleted. I still haven't gotten a response yet. Even if it was caused by our posts (I gave my review of the Chat process in the post right after yours) deleting five years worth of posts in that thread seems like a bit of overkill. It is like someone at Dish (or at SatelliteGuys?) does not want us to discuss Welcome Pack anymore. (Yeah, I know, Tin Foil Hat Mode time.)

Interesting. So now we have confirmation that someone else with Welcome Pack is now getting Tennis Channel, while other Welcome Pack subscribers are still not getting Tennis Channel. I have to wonder if this is some kind of unannounced "Loyal Customer Bonus" where a specific channel gets added to individual subscribers' accounts, seemingly at random, without getting added for everyone who has the same package. Or perhaps this is simply some kind of technical glitch, where the channel shows up for subscribers with that package who also have a specific receiver model. For example, Tecmo SB Guy, I remember a similar glitch years ago, when both of us were getting HLN with Welcome Pack, using leased ViP722k receivers. Here is the thread you started about that particular glitch, for anyone else who may be interested:

Is HLN, channel 202 part of the Welcome Pack now? I noticed it turned blue in my TV Guide the other day. But just the SD version, not the HD version which makes me think it's not a free preview.

Just a random thought, but have you thought about logging on and "waking" your receiver. Even though it's not "asleep", it couldn't hurt to send it a hit. Worth trying, IMO.

Wife and I are camping this week and noticed that I'm receiving tennis channel 400 & 9442 on eastern arc with vip222k with flex pack..not listed on flex pack either.. I'm almost sure my Wally at home didn't have the channel..I did re-hit my receivers on mydish app once I setup the dish

Interestingly, this may help rule out the theory about a glitch with specific receiver models, unless each receiver model also requires a different specific package in order for the glitch to show up. I have a ViP222k on Eastern Arc, and I am not seeing either of those channel numbers with my International Basic subscription. However, my sister's Wally on Eastern Arc is seeing channel 400 with Welcome Pack.

As far as the mydish site not listing Tennis Channel in the lower packages, I long ago stopped relying on mydish to keep an accurate listing of the channels in those packages. This is especially true for packages like Welcome Pack and Smart Pack that are listed as "No longer sold" and no longer show up in the Compare Packages tool. For example, the mydish page for Boomerang (which definitely is included in Welcome Pack) does not list Welcome Pack as one of the packages with that channel, either.

I would expect the Flex Pack listing to be accurate, though, since that is a more current package that is still being sold, and is available as a choice under Compare Packages. So, it is odd that the Tennis Channel listing would not show that, unless this is simply some sort of glitch.

At least we know that the issue isn't with censorship around here. (The "Thread missing" thread was updated by Scott, giving the actual cause of the issue.) To be fair, I wasn’t wrong in my assessment. Lol. Speedy left a couple years back, and their team hasn’t been the same since about that time. They were the best and brightest in the field, and now they seem to either be “yes men”, “copy and paste wordless warriors”, or my opinion - Just asses filling seats. I’m so mad because of how great the whole system was. Now they are equivalent to Directv’s social media team, which is close to worthless. DISH Support bring back the people that are empowered to be the best and make Dish shine!!!!! I love the DIRT team... just think this one, frankly, sucks!

The Dish site TV Steaming on the Go says I can watch shows recorded on my Hopper on my laptop. But it doesn't mention watching on a PC. Am I missing something?
