It's about time!:) TBS HD has finally started broadcasting select shows in high definition (only a few, but it's better than nothing!:D). So far, I have seen that Everybody Loves Raymond has been shown in HD (the more recent episodes) and last night they had The Office in HD! I wonder if they'll start showing their originals in HD? If you've noticed that there have been other programs in HD, please add it to the list.

I seen the Office last night in HD also. I thought for a second that my box was set to zoom instead of normal.

you know it's HD when the TBS.com logo isn't stretched. It's skinnier during Taylor Perry's House Of Pain no doubt.

I think TBS has gone to the non stretched logo for everything thats on the HD channel, including programs that are in stretch-o-vision...King of Queens was like that earlier today (stretched but skinnier TBS logo...it was from 1999 i think)

The key is to look at the sides...TBS does a weird panoramic stretch where they stretch the sides more than the middle... the middle looks close to normal when they do that

But glad to see they are starting to get their act together

Correct. The non stretched logo is not necessarily an indicator of true HD programming.

that plays tricks with my eyes when they do that. i have to watch the sd channel when they are doing that.

To be true HD it must be filmed in HD. All the old shows filmed in SD are not true HD. Is this correct? If so only new shows filmed with new HD cameras will be HD.

If a show or movie was filmed on film and not tape then it can be downconverted to HD. Film has a higher resolution than HD.

Same here. I know they're not going to stop the stretch-a-thon, I just wish they wouldn't label every show in the guide as HD.

If I knew which shows were in real HD maybe I would tune in sometimes.

I have noticed the TBS website has not said anything about HD for their Sunday broadcasts. I can't see why they would not (the LDS series were last fall and looked nice) but I am concerned about their comment regarding a new updated website about MLB. The site says a new website about MLB is "Coming Soon." Chuckles does not own TBS does he?:D

This is why I also keep the SD channels for TBS, History Channel, Food Network, HGTV, and TNT in my favorites list. The other SD duplicates I remove. I much rather watch a not as clear broadcast in its normal aspect ratio on an SD channel, than a clearer upconveted stretched program on an HD channel.

I too noticed that Raymond was in true HD. I did read about a month ago that the repeats of Everybody Loves Raymond will be in HD.

History Channel needs to get their head out of their ass stretching out 16:9 images all the time. I love that channel but they got clowns at the switchboard I swear to God.

Also it is too bad Food Network and HGTV had to go and ruin themselves with stretched SD. I watched 10 seconds of "Unwrapped" last night and it was candy on a conveyor belt moving across the screen horizontally and it literally made me sick trying to see it stretch and then unstretch and then stretch again as it moved across the screen... a big THUMBS DOWN for pooping all over their two HD Channels.

I too find it weird that the History channel will take a program that is already 16:9 and stretch it even further. Not only is it stretched, we still get those black bars on the top and bottom.

Wow. Another movies in hd tonight!!

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.
Too bad it is a stupid ass movie.

Yeah Harold and Kumar is in HD right now. So at least this FEELS like we're getting a new HD channel right?...
