Tailgate help for a Direct TV convert

Have been a long-time tailgater using Dish 500. Setup has been a breeze as we have been doing it for so long we locate satellite and connect immediately. Upgraded to a 46" LED last year and was told to just accept some HD with the 500 as any upgrade would be too difficult.

However, I have made the decision to switch to Direct TV and I want to get all the HD channels and not just some. What is my best setup alternative?

You need a Slimline to get DirecTV HD. One of these will do:

For ease of alignment, I'd suggest that you use a dish with the SL3 LNB. You don't need the 110 and 119 satellites.

Some one should have suggested that you use your dish 500 aimed at 119 and 129 instead of 110 & 119 to get DISH's HD signals.

Do I need a BBC? What about a signal meter? I always could connect without them.

Do I need a BBC?

This depends on what recvr you end up with and what dish you decide to use.

A H/HR23 is the only recvr that does NOT need the BBC's, however, if you use a SWM LNB you don't need then on ANY recvrs.
