Last year we successfully tailgated with a 2 TV setup using the silver dvr box with 2 tuners, watching 2 different SD games.

Well my buddy who had that dish network service moved and no longer has a dish account, BUT still has his set top box.

I now have dish service at my apartment and have the new black HD dvr box (I think its a model #612), but it does not have the ability to watch the 2 different tuners.

Is there anyway I can transfer my service to his box temporarily on Saturdays for watching games out there at tailgate?

There sure isn't. Do you only have the one receiver? If you have more than one receiver you can set them both up at the tailgate (using two wires from the dish).

Yes, Add the receiver on to your current account! It will carry a Additional receiver fee ( $5.00 ), Additional Outlet fee for tv#2 ( $5.00 ) DVR Service Fee ( $6.00). Thats about $16.00 per mo. Hope it wont cut into your soda pop funds :)

After the football season is over, you can de-activate this receiver with no penalty.

Damn I was hoping I could take the smart card out of mine and put it in another receiver and have it work. But i guess the vampires want to drain every last dollar out of me.

Do the receivers even have the smart cards anymore?

If we just plugged my buddies old receiver in would it work at all?

This goes back to me being disappointed with the Dish, one of the main reasons I got it was that you could watch the 2 recievers at the same time. I get mine installed and come home to find that my box has 2 tuners but I can't watch the ones I want to.

Good call on taking the 2 boxes out there, but thats a bigger PITA then it used to be. The one box was able to run the 2 different channels. and all was good.

What's going on between E* and Local ABC stations?
