Where I live, if I bought this, I'd be buying a $90.00 brick, because since the Digital transition, it's impossible to receive ALL OTA channels without an outdoor antenna, & even then it's iffy.

This thing shows no support(that I'm aware of) for use of an outdoor antenna, only the single telescope antenna attached to it.

Lot cheaper here, and outdoor antenna use available on some. Without the marketing hype (like FREETV and the 'new' FireStick TV(??)

Let me ask something before I step into the do-do. If I buy this gadget I can catch only the channels nearby....

For that over priced "TPod" Yeah, only the really local - doesn't look like any provision for an external antenna. It surely wouldn't work for me. ( I spent less for a 7 inch 'all mode' portable television, <$50.oo)
I would, if I were 'in the market' for an ATSC usb tuner, opt for one at Newegg. Cheaper and usable with an external antenna.
