System upgrade for 510 causing freezing?

I got a system upgrade about 3 weeks ago and since then my picture keeps freezing. I have to change the channel or turn sat. box off and on to get picture back. Did this during recording also and I missed my program. Now I have another sytem upgrade which seems kinda soon and I am afraid to install it in case of more problems. Or could this one be correcting the problem it caused with the last upgrade?
I have DishNetwork DVR 510.

I would install the upgrade. After it is completely installed pull the power plug for a couple of minutes.
