Hi all...hope this is in the right area.
I am in Can. and customer wants his swm5 dish hooked up...I went there today everything seemd hooked up right....disconnected line in to swm lnbf, ( I have a super buddy 21 ) found 101 no prob (95%)..but without (alignment signal locater) I could not check on 119.. receiver would not even recognize 101...transponder check verified signal on 24 thru 32 but 0 on other transponders. no signal on other sats. skew was set right . Now what I found out is he has a 29 volt power inserter instead of a 21 volt, could that have damaged the swm lnbf ?? ....Now because my super buddy verified 101 should it not work ? and because I do not have an ASL tool can I use a cable\tronix (ctlbd-2) spliter with one port power pass diode steered instead... to check out 119.This is his summer home and he brought his direct system with him. I do not get to do many direct systems up here so any advice would be greatly appreciated...( I would like to give him tv)
