Switching, some questions

I'll most likely be switching to Dish with the Digital Home Advantage plan. I currently have Cox cable, both the TV and internet packages.

I'm going to keep the basic cable package because locals are not available in my area, and I'll still have internet. The house is wired with RG-6 cable.

1. Will Dish be able to connect to my existing system through the cable box?

2. I know you can switch between the cable/satellite signal on the TV, so they can operate on the same lines, however what about internet. Should it work fine or could I have problems getting a connection?

3. After I order, will there be anything I need to do before the installer comes? Will I need to supply anything?

4. I have previously asked a guy at Radio Shack some questions, and he has been helpful, so I was considering just ordering through them. However, is there any reason I should order direct from Dish instead?

Any input would appreciated, thanks. :)

1. Unless you have an ancient TV with only one antenna jack and no line A/V inputs, you will want the sat receiver connected to seperately. But, yeah, you can connect the cable box to the sat receiver, watch DISH Network on Ch 3 or 4, and watch cable when you turn off the sat receiver.

2. There will be no difference to the hook-up of your cable modem.

3. Nope.

4. No reason to go Direct from DISH Network. If you go through Radio Shack DISH will probably handle the install anyway but RS will get credit for the sale. What I'd recommend is that you find an independent full-service Sat TV specialist in your area. You will likely have a better & more professional installation and certainly have better tech support & service when you need it.

Actually, I'm talking about the box outside where the cable comes into the house. But I think I've already answered my own question. :) If anybody else any input, I would appreciate it, thanks.
