Swapping Receivers

Currently I have an 811 with Dish network hd subscription and would like to replace it with a VIP222, probalby purchasing one off eBay or something. How exactly would I go about activating the receiver? I can't just swap the cards? Do I have to call Dish tech support to get them to do it?

You would have to call E*, neither receiver has "cards" you can swap. They are currently built in. Also I do not believe the VIP222 is not yet available (as I haven't seen one yet.)

Buy it (a VIP 211) from Dishstore.net It will cost you $234.00 and you won't get screwed on Ebay. Then just hook it up and call Dish to swap them. They will ask you for the numbers off the receivers.
