Swapping DVRs, External hard drive question

What all receivers support external hard drives? Also, for the occasional failed DVR, I am considering the possibility of offering content recovery. How much time would it take to move content off a DVR onto an external hard drive and then back on to a new DVR? Worst case scenario would be a full 722.

What is a reasonable charge for this service? We could do this as an over-night bench setup if need be.

622 and 722. What/How would merit your idea? You'd be talking about 20 hrs each way if done normally.
