Can anyone recommend surge protection for a DirecTV HD Satellite installation? I will also have a 2nd Satellite for locals. Total of 6 coaxials coming into the multiswitch. Of course, I would think that protecting prior to the MS would better insure that lightning doesn't take out the MS and any tv connected to it. I plan to protect the coax at the TVs too. I have seen a max of 4 ports (2 in, 2 out) on most commercially available protectors and that would take me 3 units to protect all 6 lines. Should I use in-line protectors instead.

WHAT DO YOU USE?

I use a Tripplight surge/ups unit, link below:

http://www.tripplite.com/products/product.cfm?productID=2668

It's 100 bncks, but is better than just a surge suppressor, since all surge suppessors only are good for a year or less, each time they take a 'hit' their ability to protect is reduced, until they no longer do anything, the unit I suggest will also protect against bronwouts, as well as surges, of course, it should be said, no amount of protection will help if lightning stikes directly.

There are other models on that site with more outlets to fit your needs.
