Super Buddy how to powering Dish hybrid LNB

Hi, I use my hopper in my RV. I have an older model Super Buddy bought and now my understanding is it will not power the Dish dph hybrid LNB. I tried it on dp plus LNB and have same problem. On battery power the super Buddy shuts off. On AC it says Error LNB current to high for external power. What older LNBs (eastern and western) can I get and mount on the 1000.2 dish that will work for the alignment then swap to the hybrid? Also I understand I may be able to use a power inserter to power the hybrid LNB and not have to swap LNBs after alignment. Can I use the dish 211057 or 126169 power inserter and do I have to use the dph42 switch if I use one of these power inserters? Or can I just put the power inserter between the LNB and my super buddy?

Typically that happens when the LNB is bad or something as simple as a silver braid wrapped around the "stinger". Try it with a different cable and yes it will most certainly work on the DPH LNB's. If go to the SSB website, you can d/l the software to update your meter

Thanks but I know it's the super buddy. See the applied instrument bulletin. I've got to come up with a work-around. I'm questioning does anyone know of a way to power the LNB? The super buddy will work fine except for over current.

Power the lnb on port 1 using the receiver, use a jumper on port 2 to point the dish.

Thanks had not thought of that. That sound like that will work. I'll try that first thing tomorrow. If it work then
should be able to , remove the super buddy, cap the jumper, and run check switch. Beat the idea of power inserter or swapping LNBs after alignment. Wow hope this works!

If the Hopper 3 or Hopper Duo is plugged in and the cable connected from the LNB, Port 2 will not show any signal

Dude, I use a SSB Meter every single day on DPH lnb's just like every other Dish tech in the country. Trust me, they work just fine. The only thing I could imagine is if you have e an older model SSB, (Current is 29) but you don't show the version number in your post.

Ok I Power the lnb on port 1 using the receiver, used port 2 to point the dish with super buddy. 1st time SB turned off same as before. Tried again by pressing search then scan. Stop it on 119. Pressed LNB power and changed to lnb1. Press it again and moved to lnb2 then lnb3. It seems to be a hit and/or mis when you press LNB power button however my Super Buddy did work using this method of powering the LNB with the hopper. Thanks!
