For 9 more months. Does dish network have any birds I can pick up from Afghanistan? If they did, would I be able to get US programming IE top 120 here? I have a 6' dish sitting around here. just need an lnb and I have a receiver at home I can have sent here. Stupid war. Making me miss Archer.

No. if you want Dish there the only way would be set up dish and receiver in US at a friend or relative's residence and use sling to view in Afghanistan.

Another option is USTVNOW so you can watch US programming on a PC or with a Roku on a TV. Will work fine if you have a steady internet connection and no data caps on the receive end.
