Just changing over from Tivo on Cable to Directv DVR. With cable I was able to transfer my programs from Tivo over to a computer for storage. Is there any way to accomplish this with Directv?

No, but you can connect an eSATA drive to increase the storage space (it replaces, rather than supplements the internal drive).
only mpeg2 recordings with a modded HR10-250. Not possible with the mpeg4 equipment. D* will never allow it.
It can be done with a video capture card, but it is done in real time....that means a 2 hour program would take two hours to transfer to your computer as you play it and record it.
