So I now have a situation with a diseqc switch working well :-
C band LNB to port 1
Standard Ku band LNB to port 2
Output to Coolsat 6000

Now I have got another third dish with a universal KU LNB
Can I just hook this up to port 3 ?
Or will the 22khz signal for upper/ lower band cause a problem with the switch ?

Thanks

Tony

you can hook the Universal LNB to the diseqc switch with no issues

A diseqc switch can take any LNB regardess of what it is
-KU standard
-KU Universal
-C Band standard
-C Band bandstacked
-DBS

The only rule is you cant mix a 22k switch with a Universal since the LNB already has a 22k switch in it. Sure there are ways that you can (with an ecoda brand 22k switch) but they are for specific applications and wont allow you to fully utilize the Universal LNB

so simple terms...yes you can hook the Universal to the diseqc switch

I use to have 3 LNB's on my motorized with a diseqc switch
-DBS
-KU standard
-KU Universal (that is when Cubavision was on 58W)

The reason I mainly used a standard is I have my old analog receiver slaved to the Coolsat 5000 for any analog KU feeds (which are getting fewer and fewer by the day) and the Universal LNB would make the frequencies on the analog off my 150Mhz
