So I'm wondering what the total system watt requirement for the Standard Starband services are. I'm looking to have a 1000 watt generator setup for a temporary location setup and wounder if a dish would need a separate generator. regarding the power fluctuations i'm planning on setting up a APC battery backup/surge protector to makeup for the power if the generator kicks out.:eureka

I'm having todo this because the location i'm going to be using it at will have no power at all and will be in the middle of Nevada.

rated it's 50 watts Max. ( 2.1 amps @ 24 VDC ) realistically it draws a lot less, especially at idle. It would draw the max when transmitting with a 4 watt TX.

Bonus. you can supply 18 - 24VDC directly to the modem to run it...no need for AC.
