I'm just about ready to purchase a new HDTV - question is - I currently have Star Choice - and was told that their HD Programming is included if you have a package - Does anyone know what they offer and if and when they might be adding more programming? And do they come in on the same dish I currently have installed? Thanks Jack

If you have Essentials or above you get the following in HD for FREE

ABC (East)
CBS (E&W)
NBC (E&W)
PBS (E)
FOX (E&W)
Sportnet-if you subscribe to Sports
Movie Channels-only if you subscribe to movie channels

East is Detroit, W is Spokane (except for PBS which is Buffalo)

You need the Quad LNB or the 2 "beer cans"....Jack can you get channel 298?
If so, then you're all set :) (298 is on F2 which is where the HD is)

SC is adding 4 channels in October (rumour is ABC W, CBC, and 2 others)

Iceberg - Yes I can get channel 298 - and I do subscribe to the 1st sports package and I also get Movies east - so do you think I'll be fine. Next - just need to pick the best receiver. Any recommendations?

As Always - Thanks for the help.

if you can see 298, you'll be fine. You'll get them all (except for Movie Central....can only have either M or MOvie Central...you know that east/west line)

I hear the 505 is really good. The 530 has bugs so I would stay away from that

Either the DSR500 or 505 are very good recievers, I have both. For the most part, they are the same, except the DSR505 adds a DVI output and "Future MPEG4 expandability"
