Hello! I am not too up on the HD stuuf, but I was at Sam's club, and they have a 26" standard def tv that has a ATSC Digital tuner in it. So, from what I read on the box, this set would allow me to watch the Digital (HD) stations in my area, but would be in standard def? The tv is only $269. I really don't care about HD, but I do like what is available in my area digitally. Thanks for the help!

If it's a 4:3 expectany High Def channels to be letterboxed (like a widescreen DVD).

The SD stuff will likely just look really nice.

In general it's a rule of thumb not to equate digital with quality, but in the case of 'off air', assuming you have enough signal to keep the signal locked, the digital can and often will look better than the analog equivilent.

Thanks guys for the confirmation! I might have to go buy that tv for the bedroom. Our local NBC stton carries The Tube as a sub channel :)

Also - hey Ice! I see you "get around" :)
