I live in Peru and have the Latin American high definition package. It is very limited so most of my channels are still standard def.

My receiver simply states LHR22 so I think it's comparable to the HR22. I've tweaked a million settings on my Samsung 32" 1080p LCD as well as the DTV receiver itself and I just can't get standard def channels to look very good. Oddly, when bringing up the guide, the little preview window looks amazingly better than the full screen. I imagine this is because full screen the image gets stretched.

So, can anyone recommend some settings for me to handle my standard def line up? Any websites/guides out there I'm missing on my numerous google searches?

Thank you and greetings from the land of the Inca.

How is it connected to the TV?
HDMI, component?

Set the LHR to output a 16:9 signal at 1080 with native turned off.
Then set the TV to 16:9.
Use the format button on the LHR to cycle through the various settings.
The TV may also have some settings. You'll just have to experiment with the various combinations to get the one that works for you.
