splitting Dish

I am new here. I want to split my Dish Network signal...I want it to still go through the satellite box but I also want it to be hooked up to my pc. I am creating a media center but don't want sat to be 100% in pc. I have an old switch from Directv - thought I could use that. I hope this makes sense. Any advice is appreciated.

You can't split satellitr signal and your PC can't process the raw satellite signal.

tuner card

My pc has a tv tuner card in it. The card has a antenna in, tv in, & S-Video input. Can't the pc workwith this tuner card?

You hook the s-vid or composite vid from the sat receiver (or component if you have an HD device like the Hauppauge HDPVR) to your TV tuner in your PV. The PC TV tuner cannot process the raw sat signal.

just run the tv out from the sat box into a splitter - one to the tv the other to the pc.
