Hi there,

I'll be moving to Southern Vermont in the next few months (specifically Brattleboro area) and I'm wondering what OTA channels, if any, are available in that region? I'm particularly interested in the HD availability.

If anyone has any experience/advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :)

Input your exact street address into either one or both of these web sites. they will give you the info you want.

AntennaWeb

TV Fool - Home

Antennaweb does not look too promising, but TVFool doesn't look too bad.

Unfortunately stations are in 4-5 different directions, so you'll need a good antenna plus a rotator.

I grew up in Western MA. I would ahve to say that Brattleboro will be tough on OTA. You are abit too far east to get the Albany/Schenectady stations well and I question that the Springfield, MA stations would make it to you because of the terrain.

You are probably limited to the PBS stations in VT and closeby NH along with the one NBC although Hartford, VT is a bit to the north again terrain might be an issue. there sia an ABC station witha repeater in North Adams, MA. I have no idea of the signal strength butt that might be something you can receive

Thanks for the replies!

I tried both of those websites (great links!) but ended up rather confused. I can't determine if the signals are OK or terrible based on their explanation - I tend to think that's it's rather awful. The main thing I'm looking for, to be honest, is PBS in HD. I think I have the best chance of picking that one up because the station is only about 15 miles away in Keene, NH. Otherwise, I kinda figured it would be a tough area for OTA.

One more question, and it's a really dumb one... are we talking some hug,e expensive outdoor mount-it-on-the-roof type antenna or is there an easier one (read: possibly indoor?) that might suffice? Sorry, newbie question, I know but OTA confuses me. I guess I'm a "child" of the cable/satellite age. :)

OTA Tuner

Can I use the H20-600 OTA tuner without a satty signal?
