Sony Pondering Selling Part of Movie Units

In today's NY times, SOny is pondering selling part of their movie units.

Wow no comments from either side. like oh it's normal, or SOny is strapped for cash because of its gaming division and BD?

Probably not many comments since it is not an unusual transaction. Sony is profitable, yes the PS3 division lost money, but they made it up elsewhere. Studios routinely sell off financing of pictures. Another way to get others to pay $$ and take the risk, if the movie does well the studio still makes tons of cash, if it does poorly the investors take most the loss.
