Nice light camcorder, if you have had a recent Sony Handycam, you know the features, nete the mini HDMI connector (looks like USB).
For this years model they "squashed" (quoting the booth guy) last year's handcam.
Suggested Retail price of $999 makes it very affordable.

I've had the FDRAX33 in for a few days and have played with a little, (no 4K tv yet), but coming within next week or so... .
Menu is very familiar to any one that has had Sony camcorders in the last few years.
Taking it to capture Softball D2 playoffs this weekend to really give it a test.

What kind of storage does it use? Regular SDXC cards? And how big are the files? How many minutes of 4K video fit on a 64 GB card?

SDXC, the faster the better, 64 gig at 60p yields about 2 hours 15 minutes.

That's not bad at all! Can you can control the level of compression?

You can set the modes, the recommend SDXC UHS-1 Class 10 Memory Card for best results and more flexibility. Can also record 4k & 1080 at same time.
