Some questions about dvr functions

I'm still exploring my dvr and there are two functions that I don't know what they do. Both are all the time grayed out. One is Add To Group and the other one is Transfer. I paid for external hard drive functionality and I'm able to transfer shows to hd using Menu/Multimedia. I thought that Transfer would allow my to transfer shows to hd using My Recordings screen.

I think "Add To Group" has to do with custom folders and "Sort Groups", and I think "Transfer" has something to do with moving stuff to custom folders.

To Archive on External HDD
My Media > Send to Device > To Archive

That's what it sounds like to me. Would help though to know which DVR we're talking about.

You need to select a show (or shows) that you want to group or transfer before you can actually perform the act.
